We often get questions from customers related to System Requirements. System Requirements are the guidelines we publish related to computers, operating systems, and other hardware and software you use in conjunction with Sage Master Builder.

We provide system requirements to ensure the most recent version of your software installs and functions as expected. We test each supported operating system rigorously. We also recommend levels of RAM and processing speed to help your software perform well. 

Often times, customers are puzzled when we make changes to our System Requirements. We hear, for example, “it worked just fine before, but now you’re telling me I need to replace my server.” Rest assured, we make every effort to be conservative in our recommendations and try not to call for dramatic change or expense. However, as technology evolves, so will we! Our goal is to ensure your investment stays current and competitive. Our strategy is and always has been to follow Microsoft’s lead on supported operating systems and the hardware requirements for running those systems.

We can’t prevent change from occurring. However, at Sage we do commit to informing you of pending changes as early as possible. For those of you eagerly awaiting announcements about Windows 7 support, we will be providing you with more information shortly. We expect to support this new operating system no later than the end of 2009.
