This is also explained in the Abra Help guide, as well as the help file. It therefore makes it important to set the Salary grade Pay frequency to match the Pay frequency on the Job code which the Salary grade is assigned to, otherwise the Comparatio value can be either a lower or higher number than the field can display, as the field displays 5 digits total.
Let’s say for example, that we want to find out what someone’s Maximum pay could be on a Crystal report? The Minimum and Maximum fields in the Salary grades are not exactly available for Crystal report use. The Comparatio, however, is readily available via the Hrpersnl database.
It is also noted in the Abra Knowledgebase, that anyone earning their Maximum for their Salary grade would have a Comparatio of 133.33, higher if they exceed the maximum.
Therefore, as Comparatio equals Job Pay Period Salary divided by the Midpoint of the Salary Grade, and the total multiplied by 10, the maximum salary would be:
Pay Period Salary Divided by the Comparatio, and the total multiplied by 133.33.
The Midpoint values divide each other out in the overall calculation, reducing it to that simple formula. This formula, however, still depends on the Salary grades being correctly set up, as do other reports which deal in salary grade versus current pay comparisons. |
